stylist here, ok here goes. if you are referring to the chemical straighteners such as the japanese system, yes you can; however you must wait 14 days after your color service to have the staightener applied. a warning, the straightener takes a lot of patience, not only from you but your stylist as well so go to a stylist that specializes in long services such as these or extensions. if you are simply speaking of the flat iron, of course, just be sure to use a product to protect ends. good luck:)

yes, but make sure you put something in your hair that will protect it first. Go to a salon and ask for a product that you use before you straighten your hair. Straightening can cause bad split ends and really damage your hair especially when you have dyed/highlighted hair. Also make sure you condition well.

It depends on how badly your hair is damaged and how long ago it was highlighted.. You should always wait at least 2 weeks in between chemical processes. if your natural hair color was very dark and you changed it to a very light color you could damaged your hair so badly it could fall out. I have known a few people who have done this. If you really want to straighten it do a test on a small area that you can't really see. Wait at least 48 hours and you will see if your hair can take more chemicals You can also call the 800 numbers on the back of the product you plan on using for advise.

My hair is highlighted and I straighten it all the time. I also use Aveda brand light elements smoothing fluid. You have to have a good straightning iron or it won't be good for your hair.
