depending on how blonde your highlights are , when you put a darker color over them they most likely will fade into a muddy green color, I really recommend waiting and talking to a professional colorist.

i wouldn't get the dyes from the store. I think that would totally wreck the quality of your hair and maybe mess with the color too. I don't think you'll get one conformed color. since you have highlights you'll have brown and then lighter shades of brown. You'll be best off waiting to get a consult from a hair dresser.

If you want to undo the highlights, just shampoo your hair 3 times each time you shower. (Use 3 different kinds). The highlights will fade out. If not, go ahead and use the kind from the store. Just make sure you have the right color.

when i put blue highlights in my hair, I needed to dye it back to black once school started again... and i used the boxed dye... i'm sure you'll be fine if you use a boxed dye... just don't get something lighter than your hair, cause then you'll have to bleach it then dye it.

i would just go to the store and by the hair dye and you do it your self instead of waisting money on a hair dresser by the way i just started yahoo answers and i added you to my contact

My mom is a hair colorist, so growing up around it I know alot. Um first of all Don't shampoo your hair 3 times each time, It will just dry it out. I wouldn't dye it myself cause the highlights will still be a different color, just darker. If you go to the salon they know how to get it all one color. And if you still want to try it at home, remember that color is maybe like $80-$90 but corrective color can be like $300. So I wouldn't chance it..

Yes, you can correct your color. But be sure to choose a semi-permanent color. It is best to select a color that is 1 shade lighter than your natural color. Most semi color will only coat the hair shaft. You are not applying a permanent color, so you will not be lifting or lightening the color. Color companies have made coloring your hair at home almost too easy. Follow the direction to the letter. After the color has been removed, condition your hair with a good moisturizer, not a conditioner, A Moisturizer, they do 2 different things. Remember, choose a semi-permanent color. And choose a golden or gold base, avoid ash tones. They have a tendency to get very dark and dull. A golden color will not get too dark and turn out a much more appealing color in the end.

best thing to do is put some ketch-up on your hair 1st and then leave it for 20 Min's wash it off then put your brunette colour on that will stop it going green!! or you can buy a hair dye that covers grey hair that will stop it going green as well.

experience

p.s the ketch-up does sound silly but it does work!

you could do it yourself but you will still get a two tone affect with the high-lights
