Can my hair be saved?

naturally my hair is like this color:

i dyed my hair very dark brown about 6 months ago, and i hated it. i have tried just about everything to wash the hair color out completely. i have tried laundry soap, dish detergent, olive oil, stain remover, lemon juice, and also washing my hair over and over. it is still not my old color! does permanent hair dye ever wash out completly? or will i have to go to a salon, or dye it back to its old color to get it fixed? can my hair be saved?!

You will have to go to a salon and get colour correction. (hair dyed back to its normal colour) Permanent hair dye never comes out completely, it only fades slightly. if you left in long enough, it WOULD grow out, btu if you want your red hair back sooner, then i suggest you do the colour correction.

"nerd girl" you aren't very much a nerd. PERMANENT IS PERMANENT. duh. its not gonna wash out. u will have to go get it stripped %26amp; still it wont be ur natural color.

OMG dont use any of the stuff you mentioned above... sure you can remove the color you dyed it to... but it's best to go to a professional they can strip it.. then dye it your natural color.

Yes your hair can be saved. Permanent color does not wash out completely, especially brown. You can dye it back, make sure you are always keeping your hair well conditioned to help keep it healthy and to not dry out. Conditioners with protein are good, so are oil treatments.

The good thing is... your hair can be saved !!!! bad news ... no permanent hair dye does not wash out. Go to the salon and tell the hairdresser your problem and they will fix it for you.And im shure it's going to look great!

Since you dyed your hair darker, it will stay darker until it either grows out or you get it done. Since it is a few shades darker, you would have to bleach it.

Don't use things like laundry soap, or stain remover, you're completely frying your hair, and that won't make the color come out.

There's only one solution: color correction.

It takes months to go away on it's own. You can try washing it with vinegar. You can go to salon, they'll get your wanted color back, but will cost a lil $. Good luck. Your light brown, I think is prettier than the dark. My hair is similiar to yours. Mine is honey blonde though. Like I said, Good Luck!
