Does gel damage hair?

Right now I'm using TRESemme Mega Sculpting Gel and I was wondering if it'll damage my hair. I only put on a pea size for the outer part of my hair, then another pea size for the inside and just run it through, because I usually let my hair down.

And if it helps, I have straight black hair and highlights on the bottom.

Not permantly damage. It damages your hair alittle bit. All products do. If you use a renewing conditioner like Pantene, it will not even be noticable. Dying your hair or highlighting it though, does cause permanet damage. But too noticable.
