Highlighting my own hair...help me?

I know there must be dozens and dozens of ppl asking questions about highlights (trust me I've checked for my Q before I asked it!) but I haven't been able to find what I'm looking for, sorry. I just want to know what technique I should use when actually putting them in my hair. I live with guys, so I have to do it myself! lol Thanks, the package didn't help too much.

well..the little..box thing that it comes in has a paper that tells u how to do the different techniques...

welll...ill try to remember but..theres...chunking..i think...highlighting ..or soemthing...bleaching...and..thats all i can remember..

You could try pulling hairs through a cap that you get from the beauty supply store, but it really depends on what you're going for. If you want big chunky highlights then you should try placing very small sections of hair on pieces of foil and then painting the hair against the foil. Then bend the foil (and hair) closed and go for another section. Personally, I leave highlights up to the professionals. I've done some really bad stuff to my own hair trying these do it yourself things, and it's always better having someone else do it. Sorry.

How long is your hair? if its not to long, try pulling it through a cap, it is the best way for someone who is new to highlights. you should really try to either find a friend or teach one of the guys to help, because tha back is going to be really hard to do alone.

Hair that is much past the shoulders is to hard to pull through, it will tangle and make a mess.

also if your hair is longer, do you really want to take the chance of screwing it up and having to cut it?

To go to the salon, it really is not that expensive some places will do it for $30-45

and will GUARANTEE their results.

Just go to a salon. You might mess your hair up if you do it by yourself.

some people pull it through a cap and some use foil .Be careful not to get to close to the actually scalp bleach swells and can bleed leaving little white circles on your head the term is called bleeding through that's if you using foil.If your using a cap and you splotch to much on the scalp part it can still bleed so be care full.make sure your volume of peroxide is high enough so you don't turn orange good luck
