How do I get that beautiful beach tossed wavy hair???

i have really messy hair and its allways in my face. I straiten (which i know is bad) and by the time i get to school my hair is all wavy and messy. I always go to the beach and see the girls that were out in the sun all day and have the beautiful thin highlight wavy hair. i have brown hair with highlights and my hair is a little bit past my shoulders. So if you have tips can you please post them. thank you!

I've never tried it but my cousin used to beach wave her hair by taking a shower and night, putting the wet hair into a few braids, let them sit overnight, and take out the braids in the morning. That's how she said to do it, so I'm not sure how accurate it is, but I hope it helps.

when i want wavy hair, i put my hair in plaits for a couple of hours then i use my curling iron but i dont roll the curling iron up my hair to make it curly, i wrap my hair around the iron and close it, wait 20 secs then take my hair off.
