ya i'm trying to put my hair on highlights for a day..

you cannot temporarily lighten hair. it's not possible. lightening hair involves the removal of color molecules. that cannot be done temporarily.

if you go to sally beauty supply and look in the color aisle, you might be able to find mascara color wands in a golden color. they wash out. you can swipe them down the hair to simulate the look of highlights. i can't guarantee it will actually show up on your hair, as i don't know what your hair looks like, but you can try it. they should be around $4 or so.
